All entrances seem to lead to a single large functional area with
a bar down one side and a performance area at one end.
The pub is frequented by regulars; many of whom used to live in
the area but have since been moved to outer estates by slum clearance programmes. They come back to
keep in touch with old friends and neighbours; and are perhaps typified by the two lovely elderly
ladies from Bransholme who arrived the Saturday we were there. They turned up early to make sure
they could sit on their favourite seats at their favourite table and, once settled, got busy on
their pints, carefully decanted into half pint glasses...
