Webmasters' Choice Top 5

We haven't entirely resisted the temptation to air our views. Many are implicit in our comments. But we have also agreed our joint "Top 5" Pubs; and awarded each the "Webmasters' Choice" Oak Wreath shown here. This will be updated each time we visit Hull.

At present, the Webmasters' Choice Top 5 Pubs are those shown in alphabetical order on the left. (And yes, before you write, we do know there are six of them...)

The current Webmasters' Choice Top Five Pubs are, in alphabetical order:

The Duke of Wellington
The Minerva
Ye Olde Black Boy
Scruffy Murphy's
The Spring Bank Tavern
The Tap and Spile

Why these pubs? Well, our all round favourite for beer and atmosphere - our ultimate Hull pub, if you like - must be the Black Boy: it's the pub we always gravitate towards. The Duke of Wellington is on the list because it's the pub in Hull we'd most like to pick up and take home with us as our local. The remaining pubs on the list, the Minerva, Scruffy Murphy's the Spring Bank Tavern and the Tap and Spile are simply excellent pubs with great beer and comfortable atmosphere.
