Exterior Photo

Thanks to Peter Minns (below) for revealing the relationship between the New Clarence and the original Clarence. Interior Photo

Inside there's lots of atmosphere; and lots of wonderful beer, including some of the best Tetleys you'll find anywhere. This very nice mix appeals to all sorts of people; and this, too, is an attractive feature of the pub. A very comfortable pub to visit, or in which to pass an evening.

Users' Views: In October 1998, Peter Minns wrote "The original Clarence stood on the opposite side of Charles Street to the current pub, a site now occupied by flats. The New Clarence is a conversion of the old Co-op building on the corner of Charles and John Streets."
