When Hullpub was first developed, the Spring Bank area was omitted from it. But as many people pointed out to us, the quality of the pubs and beer in the area has improved dramatically over the years and we really had to include it. The effect of pub development in Spring Bank has been to shift the centre of interest for beer lovers away from the Old Town; or, at least, to broaden it out and provide some healthy competition.

The pubs in the area range from the almost "out of town" feel of the Old Zoological through the excellent beer and developing atmosphere of Spring Bank Tavern to the distinctly unimproved feel of the Botanic.
