A nice pub with a lot of regulars. Its stunning frontage tends to
get a bit lost against the modern Hull skyline, but the Empress is well worth a visit as you make
your way between Old Town and City Centre.
The pub itself dates back to the early years of the century as
part of the major redevelopment that saw the filling in of Queens Dock to form what is now Queens
Gardens; and the building of much of the rest of Alfred Gelder Street.
