The Grapes has gone: now replaced by the Charterhouse which opened
its doors over the Bank
 Holiday weekend in August 1997. The changes are all for the
better.
We'd previously described the Grapes as a nice town pub done few
favours by its exterior. Now it looks a little better on the outside, and is really quite
impressive on the inside. The old exterior can be seen in the photo on the right.
